Dave Johnson

David Charles Johnson was born in Tacoma Washington in 1930.  The second child of 5 siblings born to Vernon and Wilma Johnson.  From an early age, he was always fixing things, bicycles, radios, cars you name it.  Dave Volunteered to the U. S. Coast Guard as a radio technician in the early 1950’s.  After serving his country, he studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington.

After a few years at the Boeing Space Research Lab in Seattle, he moved with Wife, Betty and their 3 young sons to Southern California in 1965 to work at Douglas Aerospace in their Advanced Physics Lab.  Then on to several other Engineering assignments in Aerospace and Industry over a long and rewarding career.

After raising his family and the aforementioned long career in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Dave and Betty retired to a modest home in the peaceful High Desert of California where he lived his final years, fixing things, experimenting with new ideas, tending to a small fruit orchard with his faithful dog Joey and most of all caring for his beloved wife Betty.

David C Johnson is honored in the United States' Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.  A more detailed record of his illustrious career can be seen at this internet address... https://airandspace.si.edu/support/wall-of-honor/david-c-johnson-sr
